Achieving optimal capacity utilization through meticulous design.
myMigros was a decentralized online grocery store focused on providing a highly personalized customer experience. Using Cumulus, a well-known Swiss loyalty program, we displayed users' favorite products on a single page, enabling them to easily purchase their favorite items.
Problems to solve
Achievements
The picking team had an uneven workload during peak times especially for same-day deliveries.
We tested variable shipping fees and introduced lower delivery fees during off-peak times. This rewarded users who took advantage of these opportunities and led to a more balanced workload.
For large orders, pickers started to pick together on a single order but weren't able to keep their picked products in sync.
We enabled the picking-team to pick asynchroniously, simultaniously and helped them to find certain products with large productimages and efficient picking-routes
Simplify changes to weekly bread assortments, delivery dates, and delivery fees for each Migros picking store by setting a pre-planned start date.
Redesigned the whole backoffice including its own design system (Flowbase) and a version based approach, enabling timed events on future dates without interrupting the current setup.
Users don't understand the difference between Migros Online and myMigros, two online grocery shops from the same brand.
We created a landingpage, comparing each service with a clear overview on products and advantages from users perspective including an eye-catching explanaition video.
Guide users to a more sustainable way of ordering by adding a small quantity surcharge on their cart.
We added an interactive progress bar to their cart with a value threshold, showing them that they can avoid extra fees by adding more products, thus ensuring more sustainable deliveries and balanced workloads for our team.
"As UX Design Lead for over three years, I had the opportunity to work with an agile, fast-paced product team in a startup environment. Our shared goal was to create the most user-centric online grocery store in Switzerland. We became a well-coordinated team that could launch ideas quickly and learn and iterate faster than our competitors."
